[Northeast] Level3 east coast routing high latency

Has anyone else noticed high latency in the evenings, particularly on traffic taking routes going through New York, New Jersey, or Washington, DC on the Level3 network?

I'm noticing some severe spiking patterns, and wondering if anyone else is seeing the same.

My patterns from the west coast seem to stay consistent with no latency issues.

I've attached my line monitoring stats that illustrate this.

Bandwidth also seems severely reduced (on the downstream pipe at least) as well to sites that go through these routes:

East Coast graph

Some others seem fine (assuming they are taking different routes):

West Coast graph

Latency seems to be in these hops:
7 ae17.edge1.washingtondc12.level3.net (4.68.62.137) 111.817 ms 111.683 ms 111.685 ms
 8 vl-3503-ve-117.ebr1.Washington12.Level3.net (4.69.158.26) 111.894 ms vl-3504-ve-118.ebr1.Washington12.Level3.net (4.69.158.30) 108.070 ms vl-3604-ve-228.ebr2.Washington12.Level3.net (4.69.158.46) 98.607 ms
 9 ae-8-8.ebr1.Washington1.Level3.net (4.69.143.217) 103.043 ms 103.228 ms 103.008 ms

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yea every night I get the same thing at the same time and I don't know what it is but it's annoying. It recently started not too long ago and has been doing the same thing every night since then

Brand new V customer here.

I am seeing Ping times very consistent with what I had with Cox. I switched as I was looking for significantly lower ones. I am on V's 75/35 plan, (had Cox's 100/20) V's speeds are rock solid, but latency seems to be an issue. Does it take a day or two for new customers to get the fios promise or is there really no difference between fios and cable?

HD TV picture seems much better though

I don't think the spikes in the line monitors are only from Vz connections. The spikes seem to happen on monitor that is closer to you.

I have Comcast and my spikes are on the west coast.

Has anyone contacted Verizon about this issue? If so what did they say?
