Earthquake!?

We just got a pretty decent shake here (by Boston standards!). Did you guys feel it?

Surprised you didn't feel it, 'kat, looks like the epicenter was in Maine...

The only other one I've felt in Boston was just barely detectable (the person I was talking to in my office didn't notice it) but this one was pretty hard to miss, at least where I'm sitting.

I am about 7 miles from the center of it. I thought a tanker truck was coming through the house. Gah. Hope there is no after shocks.

Have not heard from her yet, 100 miles away but you guys are built on mud and dirt vs. rock so the waves can travel.

3.9 in Montreal a few days ago, you guys are all going to slide off into the ocean just like California 4.6 will get your attention, if you are driving you might not even notice it other than hmm, the car is acting bumpy.

It think it might be scarier for those out there because they aren't use to quakes like we are out here.

I remember during Loma Prieta, my family was calling because they were getting reports that there was mass destruction of the East Bay and that we had slid off into the ocean.

Loma Prieta was a good one, I never took the freeway that fell down as I knew it would fall. I took the surface street next to it 30 minutes before the quake. Good timing.....

Enjoy the ride Boston, time to check that brick building if you are in Maine near the epicenter.

I see we've landed in hot topics.

Californian trolls incoming in 3... 2...

We'll limit ourselves to 5.5 and up if they limit themselves to "cold" being under 15F and "snow" being 6 inches or more.

I still remember went I was stationed at Barstow, the base got 1 inch of snow and closed down. I cracked up when that happened because I was born and raised in CT.
