Weak upload speed - What can I do?

Hi all!

I subscribed to Bell's 25/7 offering about a year ago, and more recently (maybe 2 months ago) I switched to 25/10 (only because it was a few dollars less per month).

Since the start of my service with bell, my download speeds have been great (I usually get around 30MBit on speedtest.net.. 23 or 24 is a bad day).

That said.. my upload has never ever broken 4MBit, and on an average day my upload is 2.8 - 3.0MBit.

I've tried everything I can think of with my limited knowledge (as far as changing hardware configurations, phone cord, different outlet in wall, etc).

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I should also mention that anytime I've spoken to Bell about this, they always just go back to the fact that the website says "Up to 10Mbps" and that they consider anything more than 1Mbps acceptable

Hi Kovy,

Thanks for your response.

I tried that quite a while back without success :-/

Maybe your line just can't sustain a higher upload speed. I used to be on a 7mbps upload profile. I averaged 1-2 disconnects per day. I moved to another appartment in the same block, but my new line is capped at 4 mbps. Now I average 1-2 disconnects per month.
