[Price] How does Comcast pricing really work? (re: 6+ months, 1
Can anybody explain how Comcast's pricing "really" works?
According to the prices online, I see the following for Digital Preferred:
$49.99 (for months 1 - 6)
$69.99 (for months 7 - 12)
$74 - $84 (for months 12+)
These prices are for non-contract. The $49.99 price is great, but $69.99 and then $74-$84 are close to what I'm paying for Dish Network.
So... if I signup with Comcast, when would I be eligible for new promotional prices? Could I complain after 6 months and keep the $49.99 price?

Hmmm... I've just spoken with live chat and they said my $49.99 price is good for 12 months, and then $69.99 for another 12 months.
(My local office told me something even different when I was there a while ago...)
gar187erI do this for a living
phone, online (self), online chat, office......they all have different promos to offer. always have.
I'm better than you!
Yeah, that's what I've noticed...
I'm just wondering though, what should I expect in 6 or 12 months?
For example, if I complain before my rates go up to "regular" rates, would they most likely lower them back to the initial promotional price?
Not to make comparisons to Dish Network again, but everytime I've complained about prices they almost always issue me $10/month credits for 6 to 12 months which is great.
I've heard that most people who complain to Comcast will receive lower prices which is why I'm asking what will happen to my account when my initial promotional rate expires...
They wont likely move you to the lower price in the middle of the promo. they will if you ad something to it. Other than that no if you sign up for a promo that involves this price for 6 months and that price for 6-12 months you wont get another promo offered until after 12 months. My advice would be to only sign up if your happy with the terms. If not find something else.

Just as rody_44 stated after the promo they will let have to promo any more. I call in the month before and usally will get about $30.00 off a month. The last time I got $30.00 off plus Starze for the year.
