Re: Its time
Ok, up front. I do not file share, and I do not download content I haven't paid for. That said, I can't think of a first run movie that has come out in the past 3 years I couldn't wait to land on Redbox or Netflix. Heck, I've got a 60" flat panel and a Denon surround sound with Polk speakers. I was on vacation earlier this year and went to my first theater movie in almost 3 years. Sure, "Ted" was funny, but it wasn't as funny as what I paid. Most of my friends feel the same way. Why pay all that coin when you can wait a while?
Wait a few months, grab it on Blu Ray via Redbox.
Invite friends over on a Friday night. Pool the cash all of you would have spent on overpriced sodas & popcorn on DECENT food & good booze & beer.
Watch movie in the comfort of your own (or a friend's home) with good chow, good liquor, no one screaming at the screen and the chance to hit pause to go to the head when the need arises.
After the movie, everyone can hit the deck for a smoke or a cigar, or whatever. If my friends have had too much to drink they can crash at my place or get a ride from another friend and get home safe. No need to blow $30+ a person. No line, no clowns yelling at the screen or talking on their cell phones.
Technology is forcing changes in the industry. The time is coming where the celebrities & athletes aren't going to pull down those awesome salaries to do what they love to do.
Technology is dragging the Divas into the real world kicking & screaming. Truth be told, most of them would be filling potholes or plucking trash on the highway if they couldn't act, or throw a ball, or hit a puck. Why are we paying these clowns MILLIONS when plenty of talented folks are unemployed & broke? Reminds me of the end of the Roman Empire of the end days of the Soviet Union.....
Petty people are disproportionally corrupted by petty power
