Verizon FiOS → [FiOS Phone] call log

We have verizon digital voice. Tonight when I checked the call log I saw three outgoing calls to an 800 number one right after the other in the early afternoon.

When the calls were made me and my wife were at work , and the kids were at school. The house was locked with alarm on.

How can this happen ? My first thought is that these were incoming calls rather than outgoing ( the log was wrong)

Verizon was no help on this.
