tagreen posted : Actually I didn't (intentionally) post that reply to you. Not sure how it got double posted (and without the graph the second time.) Weird. But yes it was shaperprobe results. We've been having power issues due to snow lately, so I've not had time to retest since you said they came out with a new config. I'll rerun the tests and post the results (perhaps in the new 27/7 thread.)

pflog posted : Sorry, missed the end of that sentence.

I can't even run a shaperprobe. And this is bizarre. My connection appears to "die". So I watched systat -ifstat output, and this is what it reports (emphasis mine):

em0  in      1.309 KB/s        141.435 KB/s           10.079 GB
out     7.019 MB/s          7.019 MB/s            1.405 GB

How the heck am I getting 7 MEGABYTES per second uploads? This is truly bizarre. I captured during this, going to check the IO graph now.

*edit* pcap shows 7 MB/s uploads. If only I could figure out how shaper probe is managing that. :p 50+ Mbps uploads would be sweet. Although by the looks of the pcap, it's just sending UDP packets as fast as it can, so it's not actually that much throughput through the modem I'm sure.

<TABLE WIDTH=95% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">

I am hoping they fix it, because if they don't and the slower speed tiers DO work properly without the erratic speeds, I will probably save myself a few $ and drop my speeds, and if they try to charge me for it, I believe I will have a case for reducing my speed plan with no penalty. Not sure they'll agree since my "average speed" is near 27 Mbps, though. :huh:
--
"Women. Can't live with 'em, pass the beer nuts." -Norm
