If you didn't save the app trashed by iTunes you were stuck using FaceBook.

Ok that's totally a first world problem now isn't it?
#1- Who doesn't have a Facebook page?
#2- Who cares if the app uses your Facebook login to login? The only reason they do that is because its a free app and they want to make a buck. I have yet to see a paid app require you to login through Facebook.
#3 I understand the point you're trying to make, but I still feel it's best to update as new updates arrive. From my experience with the hundreds of Apps I've had in the past is that updates have fixed more problems or enhanced the App more than it has ever broken them. I try not worry about every little thing that's not in my control. :)
--
Not many people know this, but I happen to be quite famous...

I become eligible for an update late this month HOWEVER i am being hard pressed to do so. My old trusty ip4 still serves me well and i do not see and urgency to update it .
decx posted : I just ignore most of them. I only upgrade apps for which the updates have been out for a while (not all app updates are improvements) and have changes that I want/need. Right now the red App Store badge on my iPhone is at 64. :)

norbert26 posted : I went ahead and updated the APP as i was sick of looking at the 1 on the badge. The game was HD pinball. Before the update it played fine . Under whats new the update just said full support for iPhone 5 screen. A week or two ago there were bug fixes for iOS 6 and it was playing fine. Now after the iPhone 5 screen update the game hesitates every so often as the CPU strains on the older hardware. I can't roll back to the older version that worked well with the older hardware . So now i have to live with this until i can CHURN the phone out for a new handset and continue the CHURN cycle .

norbert26 posted : My point is if these updates are solely to add iPhone 5 full screen support why does iPhone 4 / 4s need them ? Why not detect what hardware is being offered the update and skip older hardware that does not need it. It may not hurt but i don't see how the added bloat will help older hardware either. There is a big delta between iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 in specs .

norbert26 posted : I am still stuck on an old iPhone 4 running iOS 6 . I am getting update notifications via the little red badge on the APP store icon. I look to see whats new and it says updated for full support on the iPhone 5 screen. OK that's nice for iPhone 5 but i am NOT there yet. I can't upgrade until end of November and this will depend on supply being available. I do not see a need to install an update that is simply to add support for iPhone 5 screen when i am using an old iPhone 4 . Is there anyway to decline the update / get rid of the badge . I am not jail broken and this is iOS 6 .
