Re: Just another way for suckers to be parted from their money

Buying a tablet on credit. Just another way for idiot consumers to be parted from their money to get things they can't afford.

Have you seen the median American salaries.. so what do you expect. It's amazing how RWers hate the minimum wage, being paid a livable salary and so forth, then mock people being forced to buy things on credit.

Evidently, you seriously prefer 3rd world countries, where the 1% (i.e. "job creators") amass all of the wealth. In reality, it's a strong Middle Class that are the 'real' job creators, socioeconomics found in every single developed country.

Unlike Republicans, nobody in any advanced economy deems only being able to pay for basics like food and rent as a good thing.

This kind of thinking shows how pathetic our school system is. Raising the minimum wage doesn't enable people to buy more stuff, all it does is raise prices and make it harder for people looking for their first job to enter the workforce.

Why don't we raise the minimum wage to $500 an hour? I mean then everyone can own an iPad. Wouldn't that be grand? Of course, the price of bread will rise to $100 a loaf, but who's counting.

Uh, your beloved continent of Europe is about to fall into a debt abyss that makes us look fiscally prudent by comparison. Also, real wages did not start falling until your beloved Dear Leader took over.

Unless he switched parties and didn't tell us.

Be it taxes or anything, I always love the Republican knee-jerk hyperbole to everything. E.G. "you could raise taxes to 100% bla bla bla". And now the you could "raise minimum wage to $500 an hour"...

These are known as Straw Man arguments, as nobody has ever suggested that. Raising Minimum wage to a livable $12 in Middle America and $18 in cities is hardly your "$500".

Perhaps you can explain how nations with close to double our minimum wage have lower unemployment rates then? Not to mention, we pay the lowest wages yet have the highest rate of poverty in the developed world. Once Again Repubonomics and the gut-feelings its based on fails reality.

Based on Republican rationale, surely 3rd world countries should have 0% unemployment. Oh wait.. Damn those facts. Thus, creating faux news.

First off, by Europe you mean Greece, Portugal, and Spain. Never any of the successful and wealthier countries on this planet, that unlike the aforementioned, actually make the G20.

Wages have fallen because of this thing know as the worst recession since (coincidentally) the Republican induced depression in the 20's. It's just mindbogglingly that your party has the nerve to use this as a kudos for yourself. You people caused this mess yet are blaming someone else for not fixing YOUR MESS fast enough.

Just goes to show how foolish the GOP base is. Heck, 15% of Republicans polled in Ohio claim Romney helped capture Osama. This shows the rest of us what we are dealing with in this country - fools.

Well, prove to me why I am wrong.

Only if they are false.

But the fact remains that raising the minimum wage still results in things becoming more expensive and less experienced persons having trouble finding a job.

Have you ever even been to Europe? Do you have any idea how much more expensive it is to live there than here? Even if they do make more money here for the same kind of work, that sure as hell isn't buying them much.

As for wage problems in this country, again, the Department of Labor says that average hourly income didn't drop until this president took over. Unless you really believe that the current president is a republican (maybe you do, since you think Europe has it much better than we do when they don't)

LOL and you neglect to mention the plights of the countries bailing them out. How long do you think Germany is going to last if they keep bailing out the PIIGS? And once they go, the rest of Europe falls with them.

And lastly, if someone is stupid enough to finance a tablet, then that person deserves to be screwed. You don't finance toys!

One thing we can finally agree on. However, my point still stands, that most Americans need to fiance things because they do not have the disposable income left, after paying for basic bills, to purchase them outright.

Remember, it's you guys who created the middle-class killing walmarts. It's why these stores and the new walmart (the dollar stores) have saturated every corner of Red States.

In addition, you guys endorse this 3rd world rise of minimum wage jobs, that barely pay enough after 40 hours to cover rent on a one bedroom apartment in the middle of nowhere. Whereas, most liberal companies like Apple, Costco, Starbucks etc pay their entry-level employees a decent rate and offer benefits.
