[LA] Awful upload after 12am At random times between 12am and 4am, my upload speed drops to 115k on a speed test, but download is fine. I fiddled with splitter and and everthing seemed to be back to normal? Is this just coincidence, or is Cox doing maintaince during these times? Can a splitter cause these problems? Its fustrating because I work late, and come home to use the internet after 12am, especially gaming.

Sometime during the day yesterday, my download speed was 86kbps. One person says my modem signals are good, then another says they are bad.

reply to JeffinKenner I've noticed something. My ping is around 20ms when the speedtest works. 18 down and 2 to 4 up. When the ping is low, like 8 to 10s, the speedtest upload doesn't even register.

reply to JeffinLA Yes LAHSIhelp, I'm still having the same issue every night. It started at 11:30pm this time. 20500 down (powerbooster), 115k upload, which had a long delay before it registered). I can't figure out what is going on. I'm close to calling them out to check my home wiring and modem. Could a modem go bad and cause this? It worked fine for 3 weeks after the hurricane after sitting in the heat. The issue started exactly 2 weeks ago. I thought it was my router, but hooked it directly to my computer, and had same result. I even purchased another router. Mysteriously after 5am, the probablem goes away, and I get 2+ upload every time. Could Cox have changed something in their system that my modem doesn't like? Why doesn't it do this all the time if that was the case? Its very fustrating to not be able to use my connection when I want to use it. I have to use it during a good window of opportunity. Not too convenient for somebody that works a late work shift.

reply to JeffinKenner Resetting defaults then turning off modem for 30 min seemed to clear up some of my signal problems. I hope it's something that always works. It seems that my modem had a "favorite" frequency, which wasn't so great.

I'm starting to think it was the DNS servers that are the issue, and not my signals.
