[Help] Darkening this web page background image

I need some help darkening this web pages background image. I found this online and thought it could be edited since it was a png file. But it appears that it can only be separated from its background. Any idea how I can darken this? Just a little bit

He he he... This is a bit too much . If you can tell me what program you're using and how u did it I could adjust it myself till I got it right.

You can edit it easily in the free program Paint.NET. Under the adjustments menu there's brightness/contrast, curves, and levels.

I just used brightness/contrast.
I used Photoshop, but almost any graphics program will work.
Paint.net is a very good, Free program.
