anon posted : i honestly have no idea what they are using or if they would even tell me if i asked. I just no they are a small mom and pop style teleco. The name of the company is bit which stands for buggs island teleco. I know you guys can't do anything about it but it's a frustrating situation. They were suppose to be out here in April that was what a cs rep told me when i found out about them 2 years ago. I was able to find out that soon because my landlord's husband is on the town committee and it was discussed at a town meeting. So i get excited and call and i'm told April of 2012. So may comes around and nothing so i call i'm told they the equipment will not work out here and that they have to update but before they install it on the towers in my county they want to first update it for their current customers but they'll be up and running around labor day. September comes and goes so i call that that's when the tell my about the interference issue. The project is being funded partially the the county and i'm scared that they are gonna pull a Vz and take the money and run. Verizon got a butt load of money to put internet out here over 15 years ago and they never did. So that's the whole story Right now i can wait or spend about 500 on 3g boosting equipment. I would hate to spend that money then have them start offering service next week. So my plan is to stick with wb till the leaves fall off the trees then if they aren't out here order a 3g modem from millenicon. Then hope they get out here before next summer. If not i'll just have to buy and amp and antenna and stick with 3g.
