Yes, it happens to me as well several times a week. It also irks me that Frontier does not offer a DSL modem with n wireless. They are about 8 yrs behind the times.

I have this same unit but mine is rock solid and I don't recall ever having dropouts like you're describing. Sounds like your resets aren't solving the issue so maybe it's an intermittent HW failure. You could try to use another modem (beg, borrow, buy, etc) to see if it behaves in a similar manner. Then you'll know whether it's the line or the HW. Good luck!

Netgear 7550 is wireless N though it is 2.4ghz only and as far as I can tell.

Smith has technical details on it in the FAQ.

Have not had any issues with the wireless signal dropping on it to a wireless g laptop.

I had the time to play with two of the se567 a few days ago and both had the same problem they would stop working over night. even a plain reboot wouldnt fix I had to do a hard reset and then login and do setup to get it to start working again. I think this is a software thing that causes the dhcp server in the modem to screw up. this would allso explain why many lose thier conection after say three days that is the default lease time I think.

If you are renting the modem, ask them to replace it with a netgear 7550.

It should not be an issue.

This is how I found the dhcp server trouble netgear router cant get a new lease in fact it cant even get the gateway IP if I try to renew it. I have seen the same thing on two of these se567's so it cant be just a fluke. and I get so many timeouts now if I ping the first hop out maybe the se567 has a short timeout when it asks to renew its lease from frontiers DHCP server.

and yes when I lost inet at first I was able to still loginto the modem and it showed that the modem still had an inet conection. I was only useing cat5 ports not wireless so IDK if it lost too.
