[AR] All 8 channels turned on in Ft. Smith area?

Click for full size
Looks like Cox has turned on all 8 channels for DOCSIS 3 modems. Normally was only showing 4 or 5 previously.

Pulled a 100 mb download speed on Speedtest (i know i know powerboost, but still the highest reading ever) and am on Premier.

Using Motorola DPC3825 gateway. Testing Bixby, OK site.

No new upload channels yet...still only seeing one currently..

Maybe by 2020 all Cox customers will have 8 channel downstream bonding available. My understanding is that, in the future, Cox is attempting to allow a subscriber no more than 50% of any one channel's capacity. So, even though under DOCSIS 3.0 each channel could theoretically support 37.5 Mbps, for an 8 channel total of 300Mbps, Cox is going to have no higher than a 150 Mbps tier when everyone is bonding 8 channels. To go to higher speeds they will need to bond more channels using 16, 24, and 32 channel bonding modems.

It is interesting to see the large variation in power levels compared to the variation in signal to noise. I need to learn more about how one is related to the other. I guess it could be related to the exact frequencies used by each channel.

Anyway, enjoy the speed, I hope it stays trouble free for you.
