Re: Oct 23 Apple Event - Live Streaming is back It doesn't fit with the existing sizes. You either scale up smaller apps making them look worse, or scale down larger apps making everything physically smaller. They went with the more obvious resolution, which takes iPad 2 sized apps and runs them at a size physically similar to the iPhone pre-retina. It makes more sense from a UI and scaling standpoint. -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

That's why it doesn't make sense to me to go with a display somewhere in the middle and then scale iPad 2 graphics up or iPad 3 graphics down. All the math works out at 1024 or 2048, not in between. -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

You can always wait & wait and never pull the trigger for electronics products if you say to yourself the next version will be better. Why? It's a discontinued product now. Good luck trying to sell that. The iPad3 is more than capable until the next version is out. And when the next version is out I'll just give the 3 to a relative. Re: Oct 23 Apple Event - Live Streaming is back Anybody have any information on if Fusion Drive is available as part of future versions of Mountain Lion or just the iMac? Phil said it was a technology in ML, making me think it would be available to everyone - but it doesn't seem like that's the case.
I'd love to use it on my dual-drive MBP. -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

Re: Oct 23 Apple Event - Live Streaming is back Interesting thought on why they updated the iPad 3 so quickly:
Previously they were manufacturing 5 different processors: A4 (iPhone 4) A5 (35nm) for iPad 2 / AppleTV / iPod touch A5 (45nm) iPhone 4S A5X iPad 3 A6 iPhone 5
Now they might be able to simplify it: A4 A5 (35nm) iPad 2 / ATV / iPod touch / iPhone 4S / iPad mini A6X - iPhone 5 (extra graphics disabled) / iPad 4
Just a guess though. I'm not sure if the 4S was switched to 32nm. -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

| reply to Thinkdiff Wish the price on the mini was atleast $299/16GB but $329 is good enough for me even though the Nexus 7 would be a better option. The apps I use on a daily bases are iOS only and no decent alternative that I've looked for in Google Play.
So sticking to the mini. Now if a jailbreak can come out, even better. -- Verizon FiOS 35/35 »bit.ly/RVzC75 |
