Re: Oct 23 Apple Event - Live Streaming is backAnybody have any information on if Fusion Drive is available as part of future versions of Mountain Lion or just the iMac? Phil said it was a technology in ML, making me think it would be available to everyone - but it doesn't seem like that's the case.
I'd love to use it on my dual-drive MBP. |

Re: Oct 23 Apple Event - Live Streaming is backInteresting thought on why they updated the iPad 3 so quickly:
Previously they were manufacturing 5 different processors: A4 (iPhone 4) A5 (35nm) for iPad 2 / AppleTV / iPod touch A5 (45nm) iPhone 4S A5X iPad 3 A6 iPhone 5
Now they might be able to simplify it: A4 A5 (35nm) iPad 2 / ATV / iPod touch / iPhone 4S / iPad mini A6X - iPhone 5 (extra graphics disabled) / iPad 4
Just a guess though. I'm not sure if the 4S was switched to 32nm. |

Wish the price on the mini was atleast $299/16GB but $329 is good enough for me even though the Nexus 7 would be a better option. The apps I use on a daily bases are iOS only and no decent alternative that I've looked for in Google Play.
So sticking to the mini. Now if a jailbreak can come out, even better. |

I assume (and really hope) they do not have stockpiles of iPhone 4s. Cook's expertise is in making product on hand as small as possible. |

Until people stop slavishly purchasing every new product Apple offers, the company won't change that behavior. The problem with the new product cycle dependence for incremental revenue is that only one product failure is required for revenues to fall off a cliff. Apple is nearing the limit of what can be done technologically with the tablet form factor. Buyer resistance to a new product every 12 months or less will happen sooner than that. |
