Your levels are good, which leads me to believe some noise is creeping in somewhere. Do you have any splitters on your modem without something plugged in on the other leg? Unshielded (or poorly shielded) coax in the runs? Anything along those lines? |

T3 errors are always very localized types of problems - they can't go any further than your node, and usually are more localized than even that. If you're getting a ton of T3s, check your local cabling, or call in to have a technician come out, measure your line for signal and noise, and if found, correct it. |

Yeah, I've recently been given the "it must be your hardware inside the house.. it's not us" line by "Christopher" at Cox Support.
I'm guessing Cox is having trouble with the upstream my neighborhood is given, and as it is intermittent and mostly daytime. Amazing how those cable crimps keep such regular hours, huh?
Without their assistance, and despite the misdirection, I've noted: the Docsis 3.0 cable modem tries to communicate with CMTS (10.65.0.1) with a MAC of MAC=64:00:f1:40:38:6a, it craps out.. but almost only between 11am and 8pm.

My guess is the CMTS is failing and rebooting, or the filter built into the CMTS is improperly functioning. |

Probably not a CMTS issue otherwise many thousands of others would be experiencing problems. Upstream ingress/noise is a more likely explanation although a failed modem is also possible. A technician would be able to help determine what could be going on. |

Looks like its a issue with noise on one of the upstream channels.

Do you know how to check your signal levels? Should be available on 192.168.100.1. What I think would be helpful to record is the Upstream frequency being used each time you have a problem, and the time you have the problem. Also, maybe try putting the modem on the line where it first enters the house? If you still have a issue there, that rules out any inside wiring. |

When the Internet goes out, the US light goes out and blinks, and then the Internet light goes out. It does not come back until I hit the restart switch on the back of the modem. What's the deal here?

Our technician visited your house 2/13 to troubleshoot and was sent away by someone at your door, saying everything was fine and the tech was no longer needed, and your trouble ticket was cancelled. |

Getting lots of them repeatedly points to a return path problem, most likely noise A tech will need to come out and work to isolate and repair. |

I admit I'm confused - what do you want to happen?
This is a localized problem to your house, your equipment, or the wiring to your house - a tech visit is required to isolate.
I set up a trouble ticket and a tech was sent. I even went so far as to make sure the one that was sent was one of our better RF troubleshooters. He got turned away at the door by someone saying there was no problem.
At this point, your best bet is to call in to Customer Care, and request a tech out to fix the problem. |
