Hard to comment without actually being able to smell it. I would suspect one of two possibilities: 1) it's just new hardware smell 2) hot/burnt electronics

yep my guess it's 1 & 2
I broke in my sub by running some low I think 20 hz signal to it at a decent volume after about 10 min or so I made enough heat to get the smell and after that no more. -- It's NOT Ni-kon It's NE-KON!
