LibraPremium join:2003-08-06 USA kudos:1 | Verizon DNS Servers I used to use Opendns prior to getting Fios. My Opendns updater is still installed on the computer, but I never attempted to put opendns into the router. I thought I read about a possible problem with On Demand TV. I have the MVPS Hosts file on each computer and I'm thinking on not putting the Opendns into the Actiontec Router. Any comments or opinions?
Thank you.

Is that what I should follow? I looked in the manual for the Actiontec Rev I and I don't see a "Network Connections" icon. Should I click on the "My Network" icon?
Since I have the opendns updater running, if I do this correctly will it automatically find it?
Thank you.

Click the Edit action for Broadband Connection. Click the Settings button at the bottom. Scroll down to DNS Server. From the pull-down list select "Use the Following DNS Server Addresses." Then it will open the boxes for you to fill in the OpenDNS IP addresses. Click the Apply button at the bottom.

Thank you so very much! I printed up your instructions and set it up. After I did the command ipconfig /flushdns, Opendns was recognized. I checked it on another computer and didn't have to run the command from there.
The Opendns updater is running (if/when your IP address changes the updater automatically changes it for Opendns).

 | You shouldn't need the updater with Verizon Routers. I use no-ip.org (free) and just input the settings under Advanced, Dynamic DNS. |

| reply to Libra You don't need to run the Updater to use OpenDNS, but it helps if you have a dynamic IP address and want to keep track of your stats on the OpenDNS website or change some OpenDNS settings
