 | FINALLY! verizon adds 5 HD nba league pass channels!! After waiting over 3 years verizon added channels 1450.1451,1452,1453,and 1454 to the NBA LEAGUE PASS!! they are on live now on my tivo premiere xl.,I also noticed they still had channel 1489 in HD still on league pass, It remains to be seen if they keep that channel there,if so that would gives us 6 HD nba league pass channels. A BIG THANK YOU TO VERIZON,not to seem ungrateful but hopefully verizon will work on getting every sport package channel in HD!! |

| Of course it's coming true.
From my understanding (and anyone can correct me) - 1450 is a duplicate of what 1489 was -
So, that's the original MPEG-2 HD channel (Team 1), and the 4 additional ones are Team 2-5, are MPEG-4, only available to 7xxx series STB's, and share 1 QAM. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

 | I noticed this morning channel 1489 is gone, but we still have the other hd channels on league pass. so its channels 1450 thru 1454 in HD and channels 1490 thru 1494 in SD for the nba league pass for now! |
|
 | anyone want to take a gander and find out what frequency these are on and if Verizon has moved TEAM 1 HD to MPEG4 ? |
|
 | 1450 is MPEG2 on 855000KHz. 1451-1454 are h.264 on 861000KHz. |

Time for someone to take QAM inventory to see what Verizon is recompressing in 3:1 QAMs for HD?
I could have swore that there were a pair of Viacom HD channels on 855MHz and 861MHz.
I wonder how much bandwidth simulcrypt takes up in the VHO's that have Cisco boxes as secondary equipment? |

 | reply to celticpride so 1451-1454 will all show HD?...in the past they had like 7 NBA League Pass channels but most of them were in SD |

 | channels 1490-1494 are sd, and channels 1450-1454 are HD. |

When they added the MPEG-4 MLB channels they didn't turn them on for the free preview. |

I wonder how much bandwidth simulcrypt takes up in the VHO's that have Cisco boxes as secondary equipment? Here in Western Pennsylvania (VH0 11) where there is no simulcrypt (Motorola boxes only), the mapping is as follows:
* Ch. 1450 (NBA HD1) and Ch. 589 (NBA TV HD) are on 399 MHz in MPEG-2. * Ch. 1451, 1452, 1453, 1454 (NBA HD2, NBA HD3, NBA HD4, NBA HD5) are on 405 MHz in MPEG-4. * Ch. 1470 (NHL HD1) and Ch. 1471 (NHL HD2), which used to be MPEG-2, have been transitioned to MPEG-4 and combined with Ch. 1472 (NHL HD3), Ch. 1473 (NHL HD4), and Ch. 1474 (NHL HD5) to share one MPEG-4 QAM carrier on 297 MHz. This frequency was reclaimed when the Summer Olympics ended.
This means that NHL CENTER ICE now requires a 7000 series box to receive any HD channels. To receive NBA League Pass, Verizon still sends one HD channel in MPEG-2 while the other four are MPEG-4.
Comedy Central HD and Nick HD remain on 855 MHz; Spike HD and VH1 HD stay put on 861 MHz, all in MPEG-2. |

 | id recommend just using the broadband package offers, it offers every game in the widescreen 720p quality, plus its on demand anytime, you dont have to waste space on your DVR recording it, or waiting for the reair a few hours later
if you cant easily set your tv you want to watch from as a dual monitor, theres tons of devices that have the app, even xbox and ps3s are going to have it this year i believe. aside from Rokus and WD Live
also the OnDemand providers are shotty as best, i remember plenty of times games would give errors which also effected any DVR recording cause the feed isnt always on so it wouldnt trigger a game to record and you're screwed and sometimes the feed wont get fixed at all till its over. |

 | I've been using tivo now going on 3 years with verizon and i never had any problems recording on nba league pass! and before that i used tivo on nba league pass with directv for 14 YEARS without no problems. Maybe i'm just lucky on that,I just hope i didnt just jinx myself for this year. |

I don't subscribe to the NHL season package but if the season ever starts maybe someone can comment on the quality. |
