3600HGV being "shelved"?

Ran across the statement in another thread:

"The 3600 is being shelved. It has wifi issues and their is a document that states that in AT&T. You will need a new modem a 3800 or 3801. "

Can anyone back this up with documentation?

At least firsthand knowledge?

Thanks.

I call BS on it, I had two of these and never issues.

Further the hardware in it is most the same as the 3800, it's just missing a few other chips and the port for Coax.

Now the 3801 is different and has almost all different internal chips.

I think this is ATT way to get those rental fee's because if you got 3600 you own it, others you don't...

I will have to call BS too, my sister has a 3600HGV modem at her rented house. So far I haven't heard her complain about it wireless at all and that's all she does is wireless as the modem sits on top of the fridge in her kitchen. Now if it's had firmware updates since my sister got hers that corrected issues then his statement might be semi-accurate.

Same things can be said about linksys WRT54G's as well before DD-WRT.
