Re: Sandy / Frankenstorm I got up every hour or so to check for power loss and ensure the sump was running effectively. Never had an issue.
No visible damage to my home or property. I only see one tree damaged in my neighborhood--a medium sized tree across the street split and laid half of itself down in their yard.
All my siblings and my parents (most in this county, one in DE) report that power is on and damage is minimal or non-existant.

I think the derecho that came through last year and did all that damage actually helped this situation.
It took out a lot of weak trees, limbs down and the subsequent outages, so all that damage last year wasn't added to today's totals. Derecho was what? 4 hours and knocked a million's power out?
I think you may be right about that. Also, it seems to have done wonders for BGE because they have *really* ramped up their PR, letting people know what all they have done to get ready and many who have lost power has had it restored already. |

I just had a small leak around 1 window and there is water in the duct work of my floor vents in the livingroom (never saw that happen before). When the furnace comes on, the water in the vents makes a "bloop bloop bloop" noise. Going to try to shop vac them out. |

I got through unscathed. No power or internet loss so netflix streaming still worked. My only complaint was when I was playing Battlefield 3 my ping times were bad - first world problems eh?
I went to the gym this afternoon it was packed! People without power were going there to shower. |
