Wait until you have kids who have to remain entertained indoors during a snow/rain storm.
They are most horrible when they don't have their "commodities".
Me, I used to just go to the store, buy a bottle of wine and sleep it out. Now, with kids, no can do.

The #1 thing that people here didn't have when the power went out last fall was heat. Except for those that had wood stoves, smelly kerosene heaters that put out CO, or a generator.

So heat is my #1 concern. Next is water, then the fridge/freezer, then lights, then everything else.
