[AZ] Cox's DHCP server parameters.

I have a Juniper SRX100 router/security appliance connected to a DOCSIS 3.0 Motorola modem. I am trying to configure it for DHCP discovery to obtain IP address from Cox's dhcp server. Since the configuration of the SRX is not plug and play, it needs to be configured manually.

Would anybody have any experience with SRX devices, or what type of parameters Cox DHCP server requires in order to provide IP address?

Should the port on SRX be configured as DHCP relay, or DHCP client?

Hi,

If you're using the appliance as a router/gateway, you would want to set the DHCP mode to client. Make sure to power cycle the modem when you connect the srx100 as a dhcp client.

You'll need to configure as DHCP client. For the SRX's, »kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?···actp=RSS gives a good summary of what you'll need to do.
