| is this really the correct price for only TWO stb's?! i'm in vho8 and have a double play bundle with 75/35 internet and the extreme hd tv package. i have two non-dvr hd stb's. both are cisco boxes. that's just what they give out around here.
i noticed on my most recent bill that my "stb package" charge is $19.98! really verizon?! ten bucks a pop for non-dvr boxes? is this a fluke or did they really jack the price up that much? |

 | Yes. That's how much they are. When I had time Warner they thought they were smart. They would charge 9.99 for a standard def box. If you wanted an HD box they would upgrade you for free. |

That price is the industy standard, in fact, Comcast would be more as their $10 box also requires a HD technology fee if you do not subscribe to a mid to upper tier class. Carriage rates for networks are going through the roof so the providers are trying to make up for it by increasing hardware fees. |

| reply to shmee I'm not sure how things work on Fios as I just got the service this week, but the prices here are a little different. I'm in NYC and the monthly charge is $7 per HD box (Motorola).
Seems pretty reasonable to me as TWC charged me $22.25 for two boxes, 46 cents for two remotes, plus $13.86 for DTV. -- "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H. L. Mencken

1 edit | reply to shmee In NJ we recently received from Verizon what they call the "2012 Annual Consumer Notification" with all sort of information about FIOS.
A HD Set top is $6.99, just a dollar more then a digital converter.
Considering your prices I'll bet long before the 2013 version is delivered our prices will be at or near yours. |
