Appreciate the report, I did see it the other day.
But as Steve See Profile, says, more or less and I'll embellish that a bit.
Datamining your Facebook information highly depends on what security settings you use. "Apps" | Games and the like are all opt-in which do render your security settings to defaults, are most subject to data leakage. None of the folks that I hang out with on Facebook from the security community complained of this. This is not to say it can't or won't happen as with all, there will be instances of robbing of personal information as we have seen:
