I also turn off images while on Yahoo. Don't need it for main page, and don't need it for groups. You do need yimg to read mail. So it gets permitted to read mail and turned right back off.

The groups I belong to are not mainstream. The ones that are I already get newsletters from. I subscribed.

Some stuff is local dealer only. You cannot sell new online - so they depend on dealer newsletters rather than national advertising.

I can't buy what I can't see. I can also ignore.

With so many items vying for your attention - marketing has become vulgar.

I use all of the above plus private browsing. If marketing wants to be a pain in the butt, then I'm reciprocating.
