cOOLguy posted : I would like to get a fat gecko to video a car trip. I was thinking of using it as a tripod (to avoid baggage fees and to avoid buying a monopod) as well with a 701HDV Manfotto Video Head. The video head has a 3/8inch female thread the gecko is 1/4in male.

Although a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter sounds like it should work, I am convinced the torque while panning will loosen up the adapter. If there was a locknut involved, it would not loosen up.

What kind of adapter should I look for?
