Hurricane Sandy?

Anyone else in its direct path?

It wont be a Hurricane anymore by the time is gets to me, but its already pretty damn rare that a storm this powerful even gets to us inland Canada folks. Warnings are already in place for winds approaching Category 1 speeds and heavy rain. We aren't used to it and our trees are not either! (can you say, hydro outages all over!)

LOL

I was doing a lot of contract work for Ontario Hydro when they did their massive cutbacks and became Hydro One. The running joke at the time was the reason the called it Hydro One was cuz there was only one guy left to do all the work.

Good luck with the storm.

Took a direct "hit" about two days ago (eye passed directly over us).

Although it is a pretty large storm ... took about two days for the winds/surf to subside.

Mainly tree damage.... were thankful.

Im sure in FL things are built to withstand hurricanes.

In Ontario, well, I don't think anyone has even thought of one since Hurricane Hazel in 1954.

Ive never seen so many hydro outages in such a short period of time.

We started with 2 functional generators, now were down to one functional generator.

Ive been playing musical UPS for the last 12 hours. I am glad I have a surplus of oversized ups's.

I am not going to let a little storm and a few tree's take my service down.

Well the worst winds are over, and surprisingly did OK, Several power outages in areas caused parts of the board to go red thru the night but by 9:30am all the power was back on.

I had 2 generators gassed up and never needed them. More importantly, my stuff stayed in the air.
