dgoner posted : You should be able to do this. I am in the same boat. I have 2 DSL lines. 1 naked and 1 with bare minimum phone service. Both DSL lines should have phone numbers assigned to them on your billing statement. Just give them the phone number of the line you want to cancel.

I don't notice much speed difference between my two lines but I do notice one is a lot more reliable than the other. Both are connected straight to DSL modems with no other phones or devices in the house. We are cell / VOIP phone only... One modem looses synch and must be power cycled at least 3 times a week. The other line stays going for a month or two at a time without issue.

[CenturyTel] Two DSL accounts question

bobvick posted : I currently have two DSL accounts with CenturyLink. I was going to use a load balancer and try and spread the bandwith, but because the connections get slow in prime surfing hours, I am just going back to one connection since I can't tell much difference.
Anyway, one of the DSL connections in on my main line and has both DSL and voice. The other is a dry connection.
When I cancel one of the DSL lines, I wondered if it is possible to keep the dry DSL line connection and just go back to voice on my main line.
The reason that I ask this is, the dry line seems to have better speed and connectivity than the one that shares the voice.
Is this possible?
