That said, the phone is inexpensive and high-powered, and is compatible with a network that offers unlimited data. Could be a heck of a lot worse.
Me? I'll stick with my 32GB Galaxy SIII with a 64GB microSDXC card. But that's just me. |

Gonna suck hard when you have to access those files on a non-LTE and/or 4G connection. Having dial-up access to gigabytes worth of media files is almost useless. |

With Google Music cloud service it wouldn't be so bad, but I like to carry lots of TV and Movies in case I get stuck bored somewhere. I don't understand why they wouldn't put an micro SD slot on there. |

For example, if you're on an airplane and want to load it up with some movies. Downloading is far slower than copying to the card from your computer. |

| Not just that...if you are on the plane, you don't have connectivity or if you do it's the dog slow variety. I know from my iPad and iPhone, both 64GB models being full all the time, if I were to get a different device I would definitely be looking for one with expandable storage. This is especially true in a 10" tablet. Some of my 1080P concert videos are 15+GB because I don't bother to reencode for portable devices (I just use the same files as I do for my HTPC).
16-32GB definitely wouldn't cut it for a long haul flight from LAX to NRT. |

Kinda sucks but my last Nexus phone had one and I never filled it anyway. Of course come to think of it, I upgraded because the SD card was not full but the OS couldn't use it for apps. So I had all this extra unusable space. I have less space on the new phone, but actually more usable space.
damn shame really but this is just lazy engineering.

Good luck accessing that cloud on a transoceanic flight, or subway tunnels, or on a capped data connection.

| what % of your life do you spend on transoceanic flights? I'm guessing a very small percentage of the market does that. and most subway tunnels where I live have cellular service in them. |

| How about syncing...I'd rather not be spending every day picking and choosing which content to sync because some dummy thought it was a good idea to build a 16-32GB device with no expandable storage and no option for a 64-128GB model. It's the same problem that plagues the iPad. SD is one of many features (and I rank the most important feature) that serve to differentiate the platform from other platforms. |

| I guess I am in the minority here, I only store pictures that I have taken with my camera on my phones storage. I can see why people might think they need 800 hours of music on it or 10 movies, but I really don't see how that is practical. |

Or you plan ahead. Unless you are taking transcontinental flights daily, you should be able to get more than a few TV episodes and/or a good portion of your music collection on there. |
