Verizon FiOS → High pings in NYC due to hurricane?

The pings are crazy high. I can barely hit 10Mbit on the lower east side? Anyone have problems? It's probably due to the hurricane.

From NJ, I did the NY test twice...I'm on the 25/25 plan

I know like 5 people being asked to evacuate who are backing up Gigs of personal files right now before they leave. That kind of stuff might be flooding the network in NYC.

Connection is fine over here so far.

I've been getting some high latency in games and voip like ventrilo. It's hitting like 150 ms for me, normally its like 30 ms and this started happening around 2 days ago..usually starts late in the day and lasts until like 11-12 PM.

I've been running pretty slow here in Philadelphia but pings arent horrible, I'm definitely thinking it's hurricane related.

oh mine..why, cause i pinged brazzers? i always get low pings from them..they must be close to me lol

gotta give credit to verizon here in queens winds are pretty strong while I looked outside the window at the fiber cable damn...

I am now experiencing some lag/high ping... This could be because a Tree is about to fall and is being held up by the power and fios wires!!! Wish me luck guys, I may be out of commission soon.

Things have been smooth with the Internet here in Buffalo, which has to go through New York City or New Jersey. I know some providers in this area had some of their circuits go down last night for some time to New York City but they did return online again within an hour. It's a common thing to happen, storm or not. Everyone just routed around the problem.

There is an outage in the lower east side according to the tech. I came home and noticed that the ont is not getting a signal. He said some facilities are still under water.
