Re: Mounting a 3/8 inch female fluid video head to 1/4 fat gecko I am pretty sure those will come loose as I pan the camera back and forth. I have been doing some research and I think I need something called a converter plate, but I cannot find one that accepts 1/4 male on one side and has a 3/8 male thread (stud) on the other.

Unless I am mistaken, the devices you pointed out are to adapt a thread on a camera to a different kind on something fixed like a tripod with screw or a quick release plate.
In those cases there is no torque on the adapter until you are dismounting the camera or camcorder. |
