hurricane/tornado and the Jetstream

Hi everyone,
Since I'm stuck being sick my brain started wondering with all this bad weather talk, what affect, if any, does a Hurricane or tornado have on the jet stream?

Thanks and sorry if it is a stupid question

Sounds like a good question to me. Based on what I've learned the Jet Stream affects hurricanes. Tornadoes are local events at low altitudes and not affected by jet streams which operate at higher altitudes.

See »www.srh.noaa.gov/jetstream/global/jet.htm

and

Since you're laid up, NOAA has some online lessons that might help you to pass the time..

The tornadoes themselves are low level but the Thunder cells that spawn them can be 10's of thousand of feet tall, as such the Jet streams can tend to coral them to given areas and paths.
