[Speed Problem] DSL Speed Problem

Greetings:

I have been noticing speed problems recently, though they may have been occuring for a while. My line has been stable for a year so I have not ran speed tests in a long time. But my dsl went down about a month ago. I contact AT&T and they did a R&R which got me running, but it has not been at full speed based on BBR since. I contacted AT&T a week ago and they did another R&R but it made no difference.

I have DSL 1.5 (1500) and when I ran speed tests in the past before this problem using any of the test servers on BBR I consistently got 1250 to 1300 on downloads and 310 uploads. Now I get 200 to 700 on downloads but uploads are around 300. Tests are totally inconsistent each time I run one (even on the same test server).

I have two Speedstream 5100 modes (5 lights) and both have the same inconsistent slow results. I even tried an old Speedstream 5360 and got the same results.

I have tried two different computers with the same results.

I have no phones attached to the circuit.

Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 1536/384
SN Margin (dB) 23.5
Line Attenuation (dB) 39.5
Loss of Signal 0
Loss of Frame 0/0
CRC Errors 5/5

I am set to interleaved (I would like that removed as I was non-interleaved at one time--I don't know when it was switched back to interleaved).

When I run the speed tests on BBR the needle moves steady and then it stops/pauses and then tries to continue. It seems in the past when I had my expected download speed the needle would steadily move up and not pause.

I have tested with computers directly connected to modem eliminating my router as a possible source of the problem.

Located in Michigan. When I run the AT&T speed test in Detroit (close) I get good results but I don't exactly trust them. Are there issues with the BBR speed tests? I have tried them all via Java and Flash. Could it be related to routing out of the state? Never had problems before.

I'm frustrated and not sure where to go next. I'm hoping one of the techs will pick up this post and help me get this resolved.

Thanks.
