[Cable] High traffic on PAP2P's SIP port during downloads

I'm subscribed to the 28mbps cable package and recently subscribed to usenetserver.com

When downloading using SABnzbd, I noticed a large amount of upstream traffic coming from my voip PAP2P even though I am not making a call.
The traffic is coming from my PAP2P local IP over the SIP port in the form of UDP. I am tracking it using tomato firmware's QOS details.

Does anyone have an explanation for this?

I had the same issue, I had traffic as though a call was taking place, I didn't notice if I had any other downloads going.

I'm not sure what it was, I never investigated.

I have a Voip SIP phone too, and I havent checked for this sort of activity, but my Usenet downloads are unbearably slow now. It used to be a steady 3.4 Mbps (using Sabnzbd) but now I am lucky to get 1 Mbps. Any clues?

Are you connecting to your usenet server over SSL?
