MagicJack Plus sometimes connects at 10Mbps

I have a MagicJack Plus which works fine and I'm quite happy with it.

That said it sometimes only connects (at the Ethernet level) at 10Mbps rather than 100Mbps. Not a real issue (10Mbps is more than enough bandwidth) but I'm curious as to why.

It is plugged into a router that has 100Mbps ports and it gets it's IP via DHCP (from the router). The router has LED indication of the port speed (10/100).

When initially powered the MagicJack always connects at 100Mbps but sometimes (during DHCP renewal I think) drops to 10Mbps. Sometimes it self corrects (next DHCP renewal) and sometimes not.

I'm using the short black CAT5 cable that came with the unit.
