... and that is IF you have power.. 75% of NY metro is in the dark-- with the bulk outages/disaster in NJ-- again..

Laptops, tablets, & cell phones can be charged in a car, or with a solar pack.

I expected to get slammed on this one. Had all the devices charged up, I all ready had a 500 watt inverter along with a fully charged car battery & a car jump start pack on hand if need be. Last storm came through I was out for 5 days & had a basement full of water.

This time? Nothing, nadda, zip, zero, zilch. The damn lights didn't even flicker. Basement dry as a bone.

I'm not bitching, just sayin'

And a pat on the back to Comcast for helping out....

Yeah.. Luckily, I moved 2 years ago.. new home owners are now FEMA and NFIP's problem. There's only so long consumers can use a vehicle for charging devices before you put extra strain and reduced life of your vehicle for charging & using your devices (same thing with the a/c and heat) It's better to find higher ground WITH power, IMO. Gasoline is way too expensive to waste and make OIL companies richer then minimally necessary (evil).
