From reading through this thread, one person reported two weeks difference between his Pace box and his Moto DVR getting it. So I guess it's being done in phases probably by newer hardware and then older hardware or by vendor with the Pace image being first. I remember the A28 push was somewhat similar.

So far, I've gone through 2 weekends without the purge. I think there is a bug in A30 involving manual recordings (VCR-style recordings where you set start/end and channel.) Or maybe just manual recordings that are set to repeat (mine was set to repeat every Sunday night.)

This means the first time after the update the components fail to sync up & I have to physically power cycle the converter (RNG200N) which then re-establishes that handshake, and I'm fine from that point on. This has probably happened 3 times now within the past 6 weeks or so. More of a nuisance than anything else really, losing the online guide for a while until it reloads...

That is day:hour:minute format. So it was fully rebooted just over a day ago. You had no purge or database reset.

Check to see if it did a database purge or a reboot.
MENU/MENU/Setup/Cable Box Setup/Configuration.
On the configuration screen, hit the FAV key.
The first screen will list the system up time and DB run time. If they are the same, then you had a full reboot. If the DB time is less, it did a purge.
If you hit the FAV key 2 more times, it will go to the DB statistics screen. That will list how often it has purged.

For me, it mainly appears to be happening Sunday night/Monday morning.

Looks like your post about this issue on the Comcast Help and Support Forum this morning »forums.comcast.com/t5/XfinityTV-···9#M67153 has triggered an investigation into it now - "The data purge is concerning and could be a local configuration issue. The teams are looking into this now to see what is happening."

I also noticed in the general diagnostics (where you turn it off and hit OK/Select), if you hit INFO, you get an exceptions screen. There is an exception listed in the middle entry.

No. If you go into the iGuide diagnostics, there are now separate system and DB uptimes. Also, when I went into the main and mini-menus, it was still defaulting at the last one I used (I usually have the mini-menu pointing at favorites.)

I ended up doing a full power-off reboot. So far, after overnight, it's back to normal and filling in the Guide.

I hope this isn't some new A30 bug we will have to live with.
