| reply to Aaerox I'm on Extreme Plus with the 32Mbps download and 7Mbps upload speeds. I called Rogers to see if my upload speeds would be lowered to 4Mbps with the new 45Mbps download speed on Dec 1st. The CSR indicated to me that my speeds won't be changing to the new download/upload speeds. I will be keeping the current speeds as a 'grandfathered' package. If I want to take advantage of the new 45Mbps download speeds I would be then lowered to the 4Mbps upload speed.
I plan on keeping the 7Mbit upload. 32Mbit download is good for me.
It could be that they may be keeping some current Extreme Plus customers with the newer 32/7 on those speeds after Dec 1st. As with Rogers, I will be taking all of this with a grain of salt and will see what happens after Dec 1st.
If unsure call Rogers. |

If unsure call Rogers. The CSR is talking out of their ass, none of the CSRs right now know exactly what will be happening to higher upstream customers ATM. |

| Good one! When I speak to their CSR's, I take a wait and see approach and wait until what they actually do.
I called them many times about higher upload speeds until finally threatening to cancel before I got them.
Just putting what happened to me out there to see if anyone else had a similar experience. |
|
 | reply to Aaerox Just go the message.
45/4 for Extreme Plus not bad over 32/1 for current.
SO it's 35/3 for Extreme and 25/2 for Express. |

That is interesting, isn't it? I use a DNS service for my MLBTV, HuluPlus and Netflix without issue, yet I still seem to be calling home to crappy Rogers. -- If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. - Albert Einstein |

Switching DNS providers only prevents them from sending you to that (completely useless) search result page when you request an invalid domain name. |

| reply to Aaerox Hell, even blocking the IP of the server injecting these messages will not do any good. Because when you block that IP it will simply block all http pages from loading because that server will keep hijacking your pages and inject them with messages until it can successfully inject it and gets acknowledgement of it, which will never happen because you blocked that IP therefore you end up in a never-ending loop and no http page will load. Only way yo stop them is to use a encrypted connection. VPN for example. |

 | reply to Aaerox Official packages (and they're supposed to take affect Nov 14th not Dec 1st so if you call in you may be able to get them early.
Lite - 6 Mbps Down / 256 Kbps Up - 20GB - $38.49 Express - 25 Mbps Down / 2 Mbps Up - 80GB - $48.99 Extreme - 35 Mbps Down / 3 Mbps Up - 120GB - $61.99 Extreme Plus - 45 Mbps Down / 4 Mbps Up - 150GB - $71.99 Old Ultimate - 75 Mbps Down / 10 Mbps Up - 250GB - $99.9 New Ultimate - 150 Mbps Down / 10 Mbps Up - 250GB - $122.99 (not available in all areas)
Also keep in mind new speedboost of the first 20/30/50 MB insted of the first 10 for Extreme and up Inclusive (old & new ultimate both get 50)
Higher upload is also still available, 3/5/7 Mbps startng at Express in order.
Usage assurance is express and up, $5 for 20 GB and $20 for 80 GB.
Multiple IP addresses are $9.95 per month and require a D3 modem bridged. (the 9.95 gives upto 4 IPs in total) |
|
 | This is great. I called in today and tried to get my old ultimate upload increased and was told no dice. |

You can option higher upload speeds??? So I can get express 25Mbps with 7Mbps upload speed? |
|
 | I believe he meant 3 for express 5 for extreme and 7 for extreme plus.. |
|
 | reply to Aaerox So, uh, do you just call Rogers and ask for the higher upload speeds? What does it cost? Is there an official Rogers page that gives details on all of this? I'm on the "300GB Hi-Speed Express" package and had a DOCSIS 2 modem up until a few days ago, so I was getting max 12mbit download and 0.5mbit upload... now with the DOCSIS 3 modem I am still only getting these same speeds so I suspect I need to either wait a bit longer or I need to call Rogers to get 18mbit speeds that I should be getting... but once the new speeds kick in on Nov 14th/Dec 1st it would be awesome to be able to upgrade from the 2mbit speeds that Express users get to 3mbit... Heck I'm paying $68.99 for this 300GB package (minus 80% off for 24 months) so I think maybe I should just switch to Extreme Plus for $71.99 ($3 more, and of course 80% off of that) and then just learn to live with 150GB instead of 300GB and I'll get 45 Mbps Down / 4 Mbps Up... and I would then be very interested in seeing what it would cost to 'upgrade' the upload speeds to 7mbit... hmmm. Any additional info that you guys can give on the upload upgrades would be appreciated |

| reply to Aaerox All of the plans are officially live on the Rogers website. Other than "Old" Ultimate, which is still listed as 75/2 in the fine print for the "New" Ultimate.
They've also listed a new tier: "Ultimate Fibre". 250Mbps symmetrical, with a 500GB cap. |
