Agreed, just not worth it.
Uninstalled from every computer I have access to. If someone needs it, I'll hear about it & deal with it then. Otherwise, bye bye.

Whenever I have a need to run java, I just boot up a linux live cd that has it installed and run it that way. So far the only thing i've needed it for was the ICSI Netalyzr tool.

This month the Oracle suggested I Sun dry my Java and pass them through a hamster before grinding. Works great but now I have to patch the poor little guy...he keeps on bouncing off the windows.

Since DSLR is run by Hamsters you might want to donate him. Might come in useful next time NAC loses power

If I used NO - Script probably would of saved me, but I can't stand clicking yes or no on every site I surf.

How are you feeling about the yes/ no option now?

I disable it all in NoScript, and then gradually add to permissions depending on the site.

Any help on how to uninstall Java? I have done so on my Vista machines. However on my XP-SP3 when I go to add/remove programs and try to uninstall it, it tells me it can't do it because the program is located on a cd-Rom.
I went to Sun/Java which sent me to a Microsoft help site that told me to use add/remove programs. Ha!
Opened Ccleaner and it told me the same thing.

PS: I've had it disabled forever, but I would like to remove it.

I've found that using MSI installers (for anything) can be problematic if the original MSI isn't available (e.g. if done from a now non-existent removable drive). If you know the version of the Java you have installed you can try and locate (Google etc) the original MSI install package and then point to that when add/remove complains.

If that doesn't work there are numerous Google hits for "Java removal".
