iOS 6.0.1

»9to5mac.com/2012/11/01/apple-rel···g-fixes/

iPhone 5 owners will have to download this update through iTunes as a bug prevents over-the-air updating.

What iPhone 5 users will see before they update.

Timely. I can honestly say that my 4S has never had so many freeze-ups and crashes. It's been getting worse lately, almost daily issues. I hope this update helps.

Edit - reading the details I'm not hopeful my issues are addressed. Time will tell.

At a Halloween party over last weekend, I had the flash problem. I rebooted the phone and that fixed it, so good to see that's in here.

Wow...for my 5 (without installing the OTA updater fix) the download comes in at a whopping 983 megs!

My 4S and my gf's 4 have been having the UI freezing up on and off. Originally just hers, and now mine was doing it. Rebooting seems to fix the issue. I was also hoping that 6.0.1 would fix that, but they don't mention it. Guess time will tell.

"Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match" is actually fairly obnoxious. I have the phone set up to automatically download apps and iBooks installed on other iOS devices, but only while on WiFi. Meanwhile, I had it setup to use cell data for iTunes Match (otherwise I can't listen to music while on the go)

Now, I either have to use cellular data for all of those things, none of those things, or toggle the switch every time I want to listen to music.

I wonder what problem they thought they were fixing by making the change.

Hmph - checked for updates in General menu on my 4S running 6.0 and it didn't pop up any updates, even after "checking".

I guess I'll check later.

I did it from the iPhone5 wireless. Took about 4 minutes.

Yyyyyeah...as I mentioned in my first (edited) post it was a bug for iPhone 5 users. You install the patch first OTA, then you should be able to install 6.0.1.

I would think a phone firmware update would be bottom of your list of concerns right now.

Updating my 3GS with 6.0.1 and being entertained by the animated turning gears icon.

I'm just sittin' here watching the wheels go round and round,

AAAH now that song is in my head.

Good guess, but the answer was "Watching the Wheels" by John Lennon

Just did an update to two apps post installing 6.0.1. The apps updated THEN I was prompted for my Apple ID password. I cancelled without putting my password in. The apps have updated.

I just tried both App Store and iTunes and no password prompt on my old fashion 3GS.

Wow...for my 5 (without installing the OTA updater fix) the download comes in at a whopping 983 megs!

BTW, 48MB on a 4S. I guess it was truly an increment and not a full reload.

IIRC my 3GS was around 64MB.

That was my experience. Similar for my iPad 2

Sounds like a lot of the issues linger. I'll be sticking with 5.11.

My iPhone 4 freezes and crashes apps constantly. Was hoping the upgrade would fix it, but it's only worse. Not sure what else I can do. Regret the day I upgraded to 6.

My device isn't jail broken, perhaps I should just go ahead and restore it.
