why?

why does every news post have to include a response about data caps? let it go people, relax...

Jeff, you're absolutely right. Not every post has to keep festering what everyone knows. That's actually known as Trolling, but around here BBR calls that acceptable-trolling. It's off topic and serves no purpose to the topics at hand to constantly flame the threads with cap related posts.

by not talking about it, people learn to just accept it. not exactly a good thing to do.

So you feel compelled to CONSTANTLY drive that point home in every single topic or thread? ... or do you just feel that people are too stupid or beneath you that they don't remember something unless you tell them every day. So again, what's the point?

There are threads where it's appropriate. Why not just change the name of the site to broadbandcaps.com? EVERYTHING that has to do with internet is subject to caps.. there's no need to bring it up on everything that's discussed. It gets to the point of whiny..

Because caps are low and over priced.. Sorry, but we don't all make 100k+ a year, and all have access to land based broadband... I know if your house floods you just jump in your helicopter and fly to one of your others, but the rest of us have to stay and try to stay afloat...

Well, obviously it is just to piss you off. /s

But seriously, it is so that the discussion doesn't end. I don't post about it in every thread. I only post about it when it is appropriate. This is one of those threads.

EVERYTHING that has to do with internet is subject to caps..

I firmly disagree. Usage caps serve no real purpose in maintaining infrastructure.

And you're just a hack tool that posts the same crap over and over again. Whining and crying when real competition is even discussed, and bashing the concept of consumer rights is all you do.

I have a jet, not a helicopter. Some people... jeez. So what if prices are over-priced. I bet you'll keep paying!

Actually no.. I've been down sizing like no bodies business.. Mellinecom account? Gone, data plan on phone? Majorly reduced on the share plan. Everything i've been killing bells and whistles on to save some cash flow.. I will not be bumping up my plans to use more data in the near future.... Crap has to be more affordable.

So sorry if I have an opinion that isn't in agreement with yours. But yea, you're brilliant in your post.. all I do is bash the concept of consumer rights.. right? asshat.. no, in your rush to, what, attack me...? .. you fail to see that I have an opinion of my own and it's not one-sided like the majority of people where, who quite frankly as you put it, are crying and whining all the time because they want something for nothing and have NO concept of how an economy works.

But please. go on, demand everything for free.. just remember that someone has to pay for it.. in your mind, as I can assume here, it's anyone but you.

Get out of here with your worthless assessment of who I am as a person.. I am no such.. REAL competition IS being discussed here and guess what? .. I'm here wondering why everyone is down on AT&T for offering it.. the majority opinion is "why should they?" or.. "pay them for something that others already offer"..isn't THAT bashing competition? ......?

... did you get dropped on your head as a child? or are you just that ignorant to what's being said here? ... I'm guessing just ignorant. The FACT here is that people want competition so long as it doesn't come from "a corporation".. *gasp* .. and no, I am no lover of corporations, in fact I'm quite the opposite, but I will defend reality, and I will also point out irony and one-sided extremists, such as you seem to be.

Thanks for proving you can't read...

My line : EVERYTHING that has to do with internet is subject to caps..

You say that you firmly disagree? really?? Could you be any more incorrect?

EVERYTHING that goes over the internet IS data which is in turn subject to a CAP.. were you too busy to try to make me look like a fool (and fail in the process) to rush out that attempt to put me down, yet again? ... or are you just that ignorant? So yes, EVERYTHING discussed here that goes over the internet has or so to with a service, app, product, website, etc. HAS TO DO WITH A CAP. duh!

I have a web server in a data center. It is not metered in any way. I have for all intents and purposes unlimited bandwith usage.

So, not EVERYTHING is subject to a CAP. The only possible "cap" that you could say it has is the theoretical maximum throughput over a given period of time, but that really is not a cap. That is the bandwidth available and if that is what you are referring to as a cap, you are ignorant.
