Disconnect DVD

My son set my Sony DVD up on my remote (CLIKR-5) and now when I turn on my remote (Sysmen On/Off) the DVD turns on.

I wonder if there is any way I can "uninstall" my DVD from the remote so that the remote does not control the DVD.

I would only like to turn on the DVD with the Sony DVD remote.

hold dvd and select down until dvd lights up, hit dvd again.

You can also program the system button to skip over dvd by holding select and system down, then hit cbl power, tv power then ch +. This will just do cbl and tv for the system button.

Thank you.

Please, what do you mean by "select down?"

I tried that and the HDMI 2 goes on and I have to turn off the TV and turn back on and use the TV's remote to get rid of that HDMI1, HDMI1, etc. screnn.

Also, what do you mean by "holding select and system down?"

It seems when I try to do one of the things you mention, the DVD goes on and then another screen pops up that says HDMI was changed from HDMI1 to HDMI2 (the one the DVD is connected to). I then have to get the TV's remote to get rid of that screen with the HDMI1 and HDMI2 showing on it).
This is very confusing for me as it is something new to me and I am unfamiliar with all of it.

This is picture of my TW remote:

I believe you can click on it to make it larger.

select is the ok/sel button in the middle of the arrows on the top portion of the remote.

system is the system on/off button top left

You need to hold select and the dvd button down together to get into programming mode, hitting dvd again will unprogram sony from the dvd button.

Thank you.
I held the DVD and the Select (round button = OK/Sel), and then thr DVD red light came on. I then clicked on the DVD button and the DVD turned on.
Was that supposed to happen (DVD turning on) if I wanted to remove the DVD from the remote?

Sorry,

Hold dvd and select, then when dvd lights up enter 161, then dvd. this should eliminate the existing code.

Thank you.
Tried that (while everything was turned off). They I clicked on the System/On/Off and the Cbl came on and the TV came on. The DVD did not come on. Hopefully, that "did the trick." Hoping, hoping and hoping this solves the problem.
Thank you again for your kind and patient help. I hope the DVD is now no longer in the System (button) and will not be activated when I press the System button in the future and that I will not have to bother you again. If DVD does, for some reason, I'll post an add-on to this thread, but as I said, I hope I do not have to bother you again.
Thanks again.

BTW, if I wanted to use the DVD (blue ray) in the future, should I only use the DVD remote (which will swithc TV to HDMI2)? Or could i use the TW remotte and click on the DVD and then Power? Or would that put the DVD back on the TW remote? I think I should stay away from using the DVD with the TW remote!
Referring to above posts...
(Sorry for the different sign-in names. My mother asked me the question which I couldn't answer and so I posted message on this board but was absent-mindedly using her sign-in on some of the posts in this thread. Sorry for the confusion! Glad you understood anyway.)

By default, these remotes are programmed with Sony's 001 code, so if you have a sony dvd player and use the system button its a bit annoying.

I do recommend using the dvd's own remote.

If you wanted to keep the dvd code in the remote but remove it from the system on/off program you can follow the 2nd step in my first post.

Thank you very much for your help in solving this problem.
Only the Sony remote will be used if/when the DVD is ever used.
Thanks again for your patience.
