Wiring @ NID and jack.

How much of the copper are you suppose to leave exposed at the nid and phone jack connections? Also where can you find this bluish kind of silicon that was put at the bottom inside of the nid where wires go out?

For screw terminals I expose enough copper to form a loop around the screw shaft. I allow for a gap to the screw head, so the insulation does not touch the screw head; might interfere with a good connection if the insulation is even partly under the screw head.

For punch down connections there is no need to strip the insulation.
