Re: AMD Losing More Linux Developers

AMD started their own coffin when they bought ATI.

While yes keeping ATI alive has been good for the video card market I think their debt load has really caused way too much harm to AMD.

The last two Intel machines I built were lga775 and I absolutely hate that Intel moved the pins to the motherboard. Socket lga775 and above are fragile and most used Intel boards I see now have damage to the socket. My last 4 builds have all been AMD APU's and I have been very pleased with the performance. Putting the GPU into the CPU was brilliant. My last gaming system doesn't even have a video card(AMD A8 APU). I play Guild Wars 2 and I get 50fps with medium settings, and 30fps on high. My next two builds will be socket FM2 based. You can't beat them right now for price versus performance. AMD A10 APU with a built in AMD HD Radeon 7660 for $129. You can't beat the price for a processor and video card wrapped into one. I think eventually AMD will shift how it makes processors so that one day the CPU will utilize the built in GPU to help boost CPU performance.
