Cisco 500X Series 10Gbit Fiber GBICDoes anyone know the model number of the 10gbit fiber module I would need for this switch? » www.newegg.com/Product/P ··· CMP=OTC-We're using SC MultiMode and I need to find the gbic that would be required for this switch to do 10gbit. Also if newegg sells it? |

» www.newegg.com/Product/P ··· -NA-_-NANot going to find a SC SFP. All I have ever seen has been LC. Just get a SC to LC adapter. |

and that switch supports 10gig without any additional modules? For example I was looking at a ProCurve and they told me it supported 10gig in the multi identity ports, but really you needed a $2,000 expansion module. |

If the switch supports 10g SFP then no, nothing else is required. Why do you need a 10g uplink? What are you trying to do? If cascading switches then you got the wrong switches, if they backhaul you can bind numerous links into one on Cisco equipment. |

Have a look at this. » www.cisco.com/en/US/prod ··· 693.htmlThe connectors will be LC because they're SFP's. |

Pretty much any 10GBASE-SR SFP+ module will do. They will all be LC connectors -- 2 SC plugs would be too wide. So, you'll need an LC-SC coupler if you have to use SC patches. (and I've never seen anyone with an SC patch panel)
It doesn't have to be a Cisco -- and your wallet really doesn't want it to be. |

You can get lc to sc patch cables (aka jumpers). Here's an example: » www.lanshack.com/1-meter ··· C26.aspx |
