If the U.S. government truly believed there was a spectrum crunch it would immediately start making plans to make a large chunk of 1755 MHz to 1850 MHz available for commercial LTE use. It is absolutely some of the best spectrum for 4th generation cellular and the federal government is the biggest spectrum hoarder of all.

The Govt announced they where letting t-mobile use part of that spectrum, in fact, share it with them. I'll have to look for the article.
