shouldn't my neighbors be having problems too?

I moved out here this year to be closer to my family, and for the last 6 months or so I've had little to no access to internet from about 4pm to 2am every single day. I've been told a couple times it's due to the over-utilization that so many other Windstream users are experiencing.

Today I talked to my brother, who lives just up the street from me (just about exactly 1 mile). They are having no internet problems whatsoever. No above-normal latency, even during peak times.

I'm a full time college student trying to finish my last 2 years. By the time I get home, I can't even check my email because of my Windstream issues. I'm totally screwed if I need to send an urgent email to one of my professors or find out if class has been cancelled. If I have an assignment or test to do online, forget about...I have to sit at the library to do it.

This is becoming more and more of a nuisance as it gets dark so early and I am a female walking 10 minutes from the library to my car alone and in the dark. I should be getting home at 5pm and able to use my own computer in the safety of my house to finish these things.

What gives? If 2013 is indeed my ETR, then it REALLY had better be done in the first quarter of 2013. If I have to go into a third semester of dealing with this mess, I'll have to move closer to the city where I have other choices of ISPs.

My brother suggested that our houses are connected to different dslams. Could I be switched to a different one, then? There must be something that can be done before this time next year...

Post a message to windstream direct here on the forum.

I have, twice. I've also had a tech out to my house, spoke to a tech on the phone, and emailed "Amanda" who handles complaints from Facebook. Everyone says the same thing: problems due to over-utilization, ETR 2013, but no estimate of when in 2013.

I was beyond irritated already but then to hear from 2 others living on my same street with no issues just kind of makes me feel like I'm either being cheated or lied to, or both.

Wish I could help. I didn't realize you had already contacted them. I don't blame you for being beyond irritated. I hope it works out for you soon : D

Your brother is most likely right, my brother lives one road over from me but his dslam is on a major highway were cable also runs. Windstream is going to make sure the areas where they have a chance of losing customers to someone else works first.
