[WIN8] Hotter processor than with Win7?

Has anyone noticed that their computer runs warmer on Windows 8? Not only am I running CoreTemp to monitor the processor temperature, but I can feel it. Besides, the fans runs louder longer than with Win7.

Does anyone share the same concerns?

If anything I think my hardware runs smoother with Win8. Is the comp doing anything in particular or just being idle?

Win8 is going to go through all the normal background system tuning stuff win7 did when you first installed it, so it's not going to let the CPU go idle until all the various indexing stuff is done. After that, it should drop to idle the same as before.

Unless you've set your min CPU speed higher than 0 in the power profile you're using, it should be exactly the same as before.

Yes, win8 seems to run hotter as idle cpu % is generally higher than win7.
